About the event

Learn to develop your vocal versatility with a view to creating character voices suitable for work in narration, animation, voiceover or non-naturalistic theatre. In this workshop, you will explore practical exercises for developing the range and elasticity of your voice and investigate how playing with vocal qualities such as pitch, tone, rhythm and resonance can spark ideas for character voices. You will use both improvisation and text-based exercises to hone your skills and discover tools for preparing and performing in this most playful area of voicework.

Cathleen McCarron is a specialist voice and text practitioner and audiobook narrator.  She is currently resident Senior Voice and Text Practitioner with the Royal Shakespeare Company and also works privately with actors and voiceover artists. Cathleen has also narrated over 100 audiobooks across all genres for most of the major publishing houses and has received a number of awards for her work in this field.
