Scholarships and funding

The Actors’ Institute is proud to be able to offer scholarships to students who would not be able access our Acting Foundation Course, without financial support.

Thanks to funding from the John Lewis Community Fund, in 2021 we are able award up to six scholarships to those aged 18-25, who live in the following areas.

Swindon, Faringdon, Marlborough, Pewsey, Devizes, Calne, Melksham, Malmesbury, Corsham and Chippenham.

We assign scholarships to those who need financial assistance most by means testing, based on household income, and extenuating circumstances. We welcome applications from those who have been financially impacted by COVID-19.

Our scholarships can be applied for after receiving an offer of a place on our foundation, but please feel free to seek our advice about funding before applying by emailing office@actorsinstitute.co.uk.

“When I was growing up in Swindon, I came through the traditional drama route, which is great, but the training at the Shoebox Theatre gives young actors alternative ways of developing skills, which is really, really exciting!”
